What I always enjoyed about Morticia and Gomez was how they made no secret that they passionately loved each other. We get so used to seeing depictions (on television especially) of married couples in continual states of contention—belittling one another, falling into the wife/mother-husband/child trope, and generally disrespecting each other, which made me wonder why they even bothered marrying in the first place.
But Gomez and Morticia never lose their desire and respect for each other. Is it because they’re “weird” that it’s acceptable to depict married life so positively? Or are they “strange” because, after three children and a lifetime together, they still adore each other? I know no marriage is perfect, but wouldn’t it be nice if the media portrayed marriage as more than a continuous state of exasperation and anger? Maybe that’s why romance novelists and romance novel readers are so embattled: because we dare to believe in love.
“How long has it been since we waltzed?”
Never miss a chance to reblog Gomez and Morticia.

A Montana judge ordered 30 days in jail for Stacey Dean Rambold, 54, a teacher who raped a high school freshman who later killed herself.
Very rarely do I post things like this, but I am disgusted, upset, and surprisingly shocked by this case. A young girl is sexually asssaulted for years and eventually, it leads to her suicide. But the judge decides to severely reduce the sentence because of the girl was “older than her chronological age” and the lawyers felt that he was “already punished enough”. Really? MOTHERFUCKING REALLY?!?!?!
I am studying to be a teacher and I am in awe of my students trust in me. At the same time, I am fearful because of people like this asshole who will abuse the trust of those students and use it in a selfish and sickening way. His school let him back in after warning him not to touch female students or be alone with them. Why was he not fired? Why was he not reported? Why did he deserve a second fucking chance? Did anyone else in the school even get a hint that something like this might be going on? Or was this like other cases where everything was swept under the rug because no one wanted to rock the boat? What does this say about how we treat women, girls, and female students that we would rather protect men like this than them?
Please sign this petition to have this judge resign. I feel like there is more we should/can do. Does anyone have any ideas? Ways to support her family and community?
I’m going to reblog this until I see other people sharing this, too.
Just the latest evidence that us women are truly fucked. (hows that for a sick pun)
- Having sex every day.
- Saving sex for your wedding night.
- Never having sex.
- Having sex with different people.
- Having sex with one person.
- Having sex with a person of your same gender.
- Loving sex.
- Hating sex.
- Being loud.
- Being quiet.
The only thing wrong with sex?
When it’s not consensual.
Because that’s not sex. That’s rape.
Reblogging again because this post is so important.
